Leaked OS 10.1.0.2354 for the BlackBerry Z10 (STL100-1)

Every time an OS leak appears it seems as though the BlackBerry Z10 owners with the STL100-1 variation get left out. Understandably, that’s a bit upsetting.

OS 10.1.0.2342 for the BlackBerry Z10

This time around though, there is joy to be had as OS 10.1.0.2354 is now available for download. It comes as a full auto-loader file, for simplicity sake, meaning there’s no difference in the methodology of installing this versus any other leak. Realistically, it’s been released in Romania but this is a packaged up version for all STL100-1 users. Continue reading

While I’m sure most of you out there who installed OS 10.1.0.2009 onto your BlackBerry Z10, have not even yet settled into it, another leaked OS is now available for download.

If you’re looking to know what’s fixed, updated and still buggy, you’ll need to hit the forums in order to comb through the info. Continue reading

Leaked OS 10.1.0.2009 for the BlackBerry Z10

What fun would Friday be with a new BlackBerry Z10 leak? Here’s one to play with before the long weekend (in the US at least). Filling in for lbfe, Kris dropped this leak in the forums earlier today.

Blackberry 10

This one is tricky as it’s technically for the STL100-4 but has been tested and works on the STL100-2 and STL100-3 as well. Soooooo, once again – be careful – if you don’t know what you’re doing then just move along.

Have fun and be sure to drop a comment letting us know how it’s working if you do choose to install it.

Please note, this leak is not for all devices. This time it’s just the STL100-2 & 3 getting some love so if you don’t have one of those then you’ll want to move along. This leak bumps the OS version up to 10.1.0.1880, and some people are already reporting improved performance and battery life. If you install this please be sure to share your findings in the comments below or in the forums.

Just like every other time – be sure to read over the instructions before you get going. You’ll need a Windows PC to run the autoloader and you’ll want to perform a full backup of your device first. If anything goes bad – don’t blame us. Remember you can always reload your Z10 OS if something gets borked.

Running OS 10.1 on your Z10? Grab Skype now in BlackBerry World

Towards the end of April, 2013, we saw Skype become available for the BlackBerry Q10.  We even saw Skype offer 3-month unlimited world subscriptions too. While we saw a leak of Skype made available for Z10 owners, you can now find Skype (Preview) available for the Z10.

Skype for Blackberry Z10

One caveat though is that you have to be running 10.1 on your Z10. BlackBerry 10.1 isn’t officially available yet but there have been leaks for a while, with a new batch leaked days ago for all Z10 models.

If you’re not comfortable with installing leaks, then you’ll have to wait for 10.1 to officially land to get Skype on your shiny Z10. Otherwise, if you’re already running 10.1 on your Z10, then you can hit up BlackBerry World and download Skype now. The 3-month unlimited offer looks like it’s still running to be sure to sign up for that too. Continue reading

New batch of OS leaks turn up for the BlackBerry Z10

The BlackBerry Z10 gets pimped in silver

One of my buddies (Jens-Peter) from Denmark decided that his BlackBerry Z10 needed spicing up a bit and as you can see from the image gallery above it looks pretty darn hot.

The BlackBerry Z10

Jens-Peter had the Z10 shipped to an authorized service provider where it was totally disassembled in an ESD environment. He wasn’t 100% happy with the final results as the volume keys, speakerphone and a few internal electronics are an integrated part of the frame so they remain original.

The paint job was done by Michael from Custom Colours. He carefully used masking tape to cover the essential parts as well as the back cover before starting work on the transformation. Jens-Peter wanted a silver color which wasn’t too sparkling but also not too boring.

So what do you think of the final result?

It looks beautiful to me. He is also considering transforming a white Z10 with sparkling gold. Should he? Sound of in the comments where I’m sure Jens-Peter will be able to answer any questions you may have.

And if you are attending BlackBerry Live in Orlando watch out for his sparkling silver edition – he will be there loud and proud!
