Leaked OS 10.1.0.2354 for the BlackBerry Z10 (STL100-1)

Every time an OS leak appears it seems as though the BlackBerry Z10 owners with the STL100-1 variation get left out. Understandably, that’s a bit upsetting.

This time around though, there is joy to be had as OS 10.1.0.2354 is now available for download. It comes as a full auto-loader file, for simplicity sake, meaning there’s no difference in the methodology of installing this versus any other leak. Realistically, it’s been released in Romania but this is a packaged up version for all STL100-1 users. Continue reading

Leaked OS 10.1.0.2342 for the BlackBerry Q10

With all the attention the BlackBerry Z10 has been getting by way of leaked OS’, I was starting to wonder when the BlackBerry Q10 would get some of the same love.

BlackBerry Q10 updates at AT&T

OS 10.1.0.2342 is what we’re looking at and while it is noted to be a SQN100-3 release but before I went posting it all willy-nilly, I did test it out on my own personal BlackBerry Q10 which is a SQN100-1 and it loads perfectly fine. That’s not to say there might be not be some underlying issues, again it is a leaked OS, but if you have a SQN100-1 or SQN100-3 you might want to give it a go.

Right then, as always – use caution when installing a leaked OS like this and remember if you break your phone it’s not our fault. Also, a good idea to make a backup because you’re essentially performing a factory restore on your device. If you don’t want to lose data, a backup is needed. You’ll need a Windows PC to install these files and If it goes downhill, remember you can always wipe and restore your device. Again, not responsible if your BlackBerry Q10 comes alive and eats you, turns into a toaster or is otherwise damaged you are on you’re own should that happen.

OS 10.1.0.2342 for the BlackBerry Z10

Like the BlackBerry Q10, this one is sitting at OS 10.1.0.2342 thanks to forums member lbfe and is a full autoloader package for BlackBerry Z10 Models STL100-2, 3 and 4. If you’re looking to know what’s fixed, updated and still buggy, you’ll need to hit the forums in order to comb through the info. Continue reading

Leaked OS 10.1.0.2009 for the BlackBerry Z10

What fun would Friday be with a new BlackBerry Z10 leak? Here’s one to play with before the long weekend (in the US at least). Filling in for lbfe, Kris dropped this leak in the forums earlier today.

Blackberry 10

This one is tricky as it’s technically for the STL100-4 but has been tested and works on the STL100-2 and STL100-3 as well. Soooooo, once again – be careful – if you don’t know what you’re doing then just move along.

Have fun and be sure to drop a comment letting us know how it’s working if you do choose to install it.

BlackBerry 10.1 OS

BlackBerry® 10.1 OS now available in AustraliaThe new BlackBerry® 10.1 Operating System (OS) is now available for download by BlackBerry Z10 smartphone customers in Australia. The BlackBerry 10 update includes new features for the BlackBerry Hub alongside updates to notifications, cursor control and camera.

How to download the operating system update
To update your BlackBerry Z10 smartphone to BlackBerry 10.1, look for the alert in the notifications section of the BlackBerry Hub. You can also check for software updates through the settings menu by visiting the software updates section. The download will happen in the background, so your information remains safe. However, as always, we recommend you have a current backup of your BlackBerry Z10 smartphone readily available. For more information on how to update your BlackBerry Z10 smartphone, visit http://www.BlackBerry.com/update

New BlackBerry 10.1 OS features include:

BlackBerry Hub

The BlackBerry Hub lets you access all your messages and notifications in one place. With BlackBerry 10.1, the BlackBerry Hub supports PIN to PIN messages for direct communication between BlackBerry smartphones. Plus, improved attachment support in the BlackBerry Hub makes it easier to view emails which have been sent as attachments to other messages.

Notifications

Your BlackBerry 10 smartphone keeps you connected to the people who matter to you with BBM, text messages, personal and work email, social networks and more. With BlackBerry 10.1, you can personalise the notifications for your accounts and contacts so you always know what is happening around you. Customise ringtones, vibration and the LED light by contact or by account for more personalised notifications.

Fine Cursor Control

BlackBerry 10.1 makes it easier and more accurate to pinpoint exactly where you want to type. Tap once to bring up the cursor. Grab the blue circle and drag it around to place it exactly where you need it. Tap either side of the circle to move left or right by just one character. It’s easy to move around with speed and precision.

Camera

BlackBerry 10 lets you create the perfect shot by moving parts of your picture backwards and forwards in time with Time Shift mode. BlackBerry 10.1 adds an HDR shooting mode for beautiful images in tricky lighting conditions. A standard image takes a picture at one exposure level. Where you have high contrast between light and dark areas of the photo, fine details can be lost. High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode takes multiple pictures at different exposure levels and layers them automatically to produce a single photo that combines the best of the dark and light areas.
Lots more to discover: You’ll find lots of new improvements across the BlackBerry 10 OS like landscape support for the calendar, easier international dialing, improved red eye reduction in the picture editor and much more. The first step to discovering these new features is to update your BlackBerry 10 software.
