Leaked OS 10.1.0.2342 for the BlackBerry Q10

With all the attention the BlackBerry Z10 has been getting by way of leaked OS’, I was starting to wonder when the BlackBerry Q10 would get some of the same love.

OS 10.1.0.2342 is what we’re looking at and while it is noted to be a SQN100-3 release but before I went posting it all willy-nilly, I did test it out on my own personal BlackBerry Q10 which is a SQN100-1 and it loads perfectly fine. That’s not to say there might be not be some underlying issues, again it is a leaked OS, but if you have a SQN100-1 or SQN100-3 you might want to give it a go.

Right then, as always – use caution when installing a leaked OS like this and remember if you break your phone it’s not our fault. Also, a good idea to make a backup because you’re essentially performing a factory restore on your device. If you don’t want to lose data, a backup is needed. You’ll need a Windows PC to install these files and If it goes downhill, remember you can always wipe and restore your device. Again, not responsible if your BlackBerry Q10 comes alive and eats you, turns into a toaster or is otherwise damaged you are on you’re own should that happen.

Rogers, Bell and TELUS BlackBerry Q10’s updated to OS 10.1.0.1720

Although the OS has been floating around in various forms for the past couple of weeks now, it looks to have finally gone official across the board in Canada for the BlackBerry Q10.

Confirmed to be arriving on Rogers, Bell and TELUS devices folks who check for updates should see that software version 10.1.0.273 is available. Oddly enough, if you check your device you may find that it’s already on this ‘software version’ but that doesn’t mean you should dismiss the update.

In fact, you should download it because even though the software version is the same, the OS inside is not. Unless you’ve installed a leak or ran a customized autoloader, most BlackBerry Q10′s in Canada should be running OS 10.1.0.1483 but with this download, even though the software version will remain unchanged, you’ll end up being on OS 10.1.0.1720.

We realize a good lot of you might have already had this show up but if not, now is a good time to check for updates. The update received on my Q10 came in at 127MB, sound off in the comments if you weren’t seeing it before but have now had it appear.

Hot on the trail of Verizon and Sprint, AT&T has fired up their own BlackBerry Q10 page as well. While you can’t pre-order a device just yet, you can register for email updates to stay in the loop as we get closer to launch. If all goes as planned, AT&T users should be able to pick up a new Q10 in just a few weeks.

We assume that just like BlackBerry Z10, the Q10 will arrive on all of the major US carriers right around the same time. As of now all we know is that it will be in “early June” and, while that’s not very definitive, only gives prospective Q10 owners a few more weeks to hold out.

White BlackBerry Q10 now available at Selfridges and Carphone Warehouse

While Selfridges in the UK had a BlackBerry Q10 exclusive for the black model at launch, they weren’t the first to offer up the white version.

However they did sell out their stock in just 90 minutes on opening weekend. Good news today though as Selfridges has now made the white Q10 available via their in-store Carphone Warehouse. The device will be available SIM-free for £579.95 for carriers such as O2, Orange, EE, T-Mobile, Three and Vodafone.

Selfridges has taken in plenty of stock given the demand of the black Q10, so there should be plenty on hand to satisfy the demand.  Continue reading

Rumored R10 gets compared to a BlackBerry Q10

It seems that the rumor mill is churning at full speed as again today we have even more photos of the rumored BlackBerry R10. We’ve seen it quite a bit over the last week or two and it doesn’t seem like things are slowing down just yet.

If you had your fill of the most recent leaked photos you can feast your eyes on a new set that include the back of the R10, a comparison shot with the BlackBerry Q10 and a group photo with a BlackBerry Z10 and a bunch of bolds.

While we don’t really get any new info from this batch, it’s still good to see more photos so we can continue to speculate as to when and where we’ll see this device turn up.

BlackBerry R10

Yes, the BlackBerry R10 as its known, has popped up once again and this time it has some specs to go along with it. They’re certainly not on the same level as the BlackBerry Q10 or the BlackBerry Z10 but that’s been pretty much known for a while now and was expected. Here’s what’s been tossed around for specs: Continue reading
